Biologic Basis for Disease in Adults and Children

Module 2 Assignment: Case Study Analysis

An understanding of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems is a critically important component of disease diagnosis and treatment. This importance is magnified by the fact that these two systems work so closely together. A variety of factors and circumstances that impact the emergence and severity of issues in one system can have a role in the performance of the other.

Effective disease analysis often requires an understanding that goes beyond these systems and their capacity to work together. The impact of patient characteristics, as well as racial and ethnic variables, can also have an important impact.

An understanding of the symptoms of alterations in cardiovascular and respiratory systems is a critical step in diagnosis and treatment of many diseases. For APRNs this understanding can also help educate patients and guide them through their treatment plans.

In this Assignment, you examine a case study and analyze the symptoms presented. You identify the elements that may be factors in the diagnosis, and you explain the implications to patient health.

To prepare:

By Day 1 of this week, you will be assigned to a specific case study scenario for this Case Study Assignment. Please see the “Course Announcements” section of the classroom for your assignment from your Instructor.

Assignment (1- to 2-page case study analysis)

In your Case Study Analysis related to the scenario provided, explain the following

  • The cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary pathophysiologic processes that result in the patient presenting these symptoms.
  • Any racial/ethnic variables that may impact physiological functioning.
  • How these processes interact to affect the patient.

The courts should return to the pre-1922 Constitutional understanding

A good essay will begin with a thesis that clearly summarizes your analysis of the proposition. You may agree, disagree, or agree in part and disagree in part with the proposition. Use the materials that the question requires plus other material that we have studied this semester to support your thesis. You are limited to 900 words per essay.

3. Prior to 1922, the government could regulate land use with no duty to pay landowners if the regulations limited the value of land. Over the course of the 20th and early 21st centuries our society has grown more complex and interdependent, and we have come to understand that what an individual does on his own property has implications for the surrounding lands, for the ecology of the entire region and for the health of the world. In the 21st century we have come to understand the value of undeveloped land as an antidote for global warming and as a habitat for rare and endangered species.

Proposition: The courts should return to the pre-1922 Constitutional understanding, and allow legislatures to limit development of land without inquiring into whether a regulatory taking has occurred.

Analyze this proposition using the examples from the Humboldt County controversy and at least one of three court cases: JustLucas or Kelo. Also discuss the ideas of at least two of the following writers: John Stuart Mill, Henry George, David Hume, William Blackstone, Ronald Coase, Elinor Ostrom.

Week 4: Ethical and Legal Considerations in Career Counseling

Imagine you are providing career counseling workshops to eighth grade students and their families. An African-American family approaches you with concerns about whether a career and technical education program (CTE) at one high school is a good fit for their daughter. Their daughter adores science, and the family sees the merits of a CTE program. It comes with a certification as a laboratory technician upon graduation along with some college credits. However, they are concerned that the perception of CTE as second tier to the regular high school programs could lower her opportunities if she decides to go to college. They are also concerned that vocational education has historically tracked lower-income, students of color, and immigrant youth deemed unsuited for more academic coursework into lower-paying professions. They want the best for their daughter, but is this the right choice (Seaton, 2019)?

Counselors must address concerns like these in an ethical manner. They must respect the dignity and concerns of the family and promote the welfare of the young woman so she can make the best choice for her. This week, you will explore ethical and legal considerations as it applies to career counseling.

Document: Career Ethics in Practice: Four Case Studies (Word Document)

Discussion: Putting Ethics into Practice

Ethical practice represents the foundation for all licensed or credentialed counselors and school counselors. In career development, common ethical issues include the following:

  • careful and culturally appropriate selection, evaluation, and interpretation of career assessment interventions;
  • cautious use of interventions newly available due to technological advances, for example, Internet-based distance counseling and career information;
  • and general limitations surrounding practices within one’s area of training and competence.

This Discussion will focus your attention on these issues through review and application of the ethical standards from the NCDA, which are dedicated to career counseling.

To Prepare:

  • Review the NCDA Ethical Standards found in this week’s Learning Resources.
  • Access the “Career Ethics in Practice: Four Case Studies” located in the Week 4 Learning Resources. Select the case study most closely aligned with your area of specialization. As you review the case study, consider how you as a counselor would ethically work with this client/student, including any multicultural or social change considerations.
  • Select at least two NCDA standards you think are most relevant to the case, considering how these standards are relevant.

By Day 3

Post the following:

  • A brief summary of the case study you selected
  • A description of how you would ethically work with this client/student
  • The NCDA ethical standards you believe are relevant to the case as well as any multicultural or social change considerations, identifying the specific standards and how they apply

By Day 6

Respond to at least two of your colleague’s postings in one or more of the following ways:

  • Compare similarities and differences of the case you selected with that of your colleague.
  • Offer an alternative NCDA ethical standard that you believe may be relevant to the case selected and explain you reasoning.
  • Validate the description of how your colleague would work with this client/student with your own experience.

Return to this Discussion in a few days to read the responses to your initial posting. Note what you have learned and/or any insights that you have gained as a result of the comments your colleagues made.

Note: Support your postings and responses with specific references to the Learning Resources and any additional sources you identify, using both in-text citations and references. It is strongly recommended that you include proper APA format and citations.

NUNP6660 When you decide to purchase a new car, you first decide what is important to you

When you decide to purchase a new car, you first decide what is important to you. If mileage and dependability are the important factors, you will search for data-focused more on these factors and less on color options and sound systems.

The same holds true when searching for research evidence to guide your clinical inquiry and professional decisions. Developing a formula for an answerable, researchable question that addresses your need will make the search process much more effective. One such formula is the PICO(T) format.

In this Discussion, you will transform a clinical inquiry into a searchable question in PICO(T) format, so you can search the electronic databases more effectively and efficiently. You will share this PICO(T) question and examine strategies you might use to increase the rigor and effectiveness of a database search on your PICO(T) question.

To Prepare:

  • Review the Resources and identify a clinical issue of interest that can form the basis of a clinical inquiry.
  • Review the materials offering guidance on using databases, performing keyword searches, and developing PICO(T) questions provided in the Resources.
  • Based on the clinical issue of interest and using keywords related to the clinical issue of interest, search at least two different databases in the Walden Library to identify at least four relevant peer-reviewed articles related to your clinical issue of interest. You should not be using systematic reviews for this assignment, select original research articles.
  • Review the Resources for guidance and develop a PICO(T) question of interest to you for further study. It is suggested that an Intervention-type PICOT question be developed as these seem to work best for this course.

Sebastian was the manager of Thai Bistro

Two question. Each should be 60 words. I need two copies. Means 2 different answer for Q1 and 2 different answers for Q2. Need it asap. Need in 2 hour

Q1.  The roof in Rosalyn’s house springs a leak. She contracts with Shelter Roofing & Restoration Company to repair the roof and fix the damage to the house. Rosalyn pays 10 percent of the price in advance. Shelter Roofing does the work, but Rosalyn refuses to pay the rest of the price. What can Shelter Roofing do, and how is it done?

Q2.  Sebastian was the manager of Thai Bistro, a restaurant specializing in Southeast Asian foods. Sebastian opened a bank account in Thai Bistro’s name, signing the account signature card as “owner.” Umeko, who was often at Thai Bistro and had free access to its office, told others that she was “an owner” and “a partner.” She also opened a bank account in Thai Bistro’s name, and signed the account signature card as “owner.” Sebastian told Vijay, the owner of Wong Noodles, Inc., that Umeko was a member of a partnership that owned Thai Bistro. On this basis, Wong Noodles delivered its goods to Thai Bistro on credit. In fact, Thai Bistro was owned by a corporation. When the unpaid account totaled more than $10,000, Wong Noodles filed a suit against Umeko to collect. On what basis might Umeko be liable for the debt?
