1. Choose an abstract variable (e.g. happiness) and provide an operational definition. What is one limitation of using an operational definition for a variable and how would you overcome that limitation?

2. List and define the four scales of measurement and give an example of an appropriate use for each. For example I could use an ordinal scale to measure satisfaction.

3.Define/discuss the two forms of deception that could occur in research. Explain why deception is used.

5. Define a normal distribution and name a data set that is normally distributed. What happens to create a positive skew? A negative skew?
