Attribution Theory

Please list and discuss the major components of attribution theory. What aspects or attributions of this theory did you find to be most intriguing? Please justify your responses with citations from the literature.

In this course, our primary goal is to introduce you to a variety of motivational theories. It is equally important to understand how a motivational or learning theory informs practices and how an educator can translate a motivational or learning theory into instructional practice. Therefore, I ask you to reflect on the following question: How would your understanding of the Attribution Theory inform your practices in creating a motivational learning environment? Please use example(s) to illustrate your points. The examples can come from your own professional practice, from your own learning experience, or even a story you heard about. You don’t have to talk about every aspect of the theory. Pick one or two things that impress you most and talk about it.
