You will focus your project on developing a deeper understanding of the concept covered in your chosen book. For instance, if my book is about dinosaurs, my project will be developing a deeper understanding of something to do with dinosaurs that stems from a question you had while reading. I might, for instance, wonder why pterosaurs are not considered dinosaurs and do my project to help me better understand the differences and what makes pterosaurs unique. I might read a book about the Revolutionary War and decide to focus my project on a key figure from the war that I am interested in finding out more about

Create a short story or collection of at least 5 poems that showcase your developing understanding of the topic from your book. If you decide to produce poems, you will need at least 5 poems and include a paragraph at the beginning of the collection that explains how your work is related to the book you read and a brief paragraph for each poem explaining the form used and why it was chosen. The poem forms you can consider are Narrative Poems, Kenning Poems, Free Verse Poems, or Sonnets. Please note that Hiku and Limericks are great for students to practice and fun to create, but do not meet the needs of this assignment.
