Diagnosis of Maija

To prepare:

• Review this week’s Learning Resources.
• Review the case of “Maija” in the course media titled “The Counting Method.”
• Consider the similarities and differences between acute stress disorder and PTSD.

With these thoughts in mind:

Post by Day 4 a summary of Maija’s experiences and symptoms. Construct a diagnosis and provide information supporting the diagnosis given. Identify any other disorders you would want to rule out. Consider what you could do to assist the client in reducing or removing the stressors. Consider how culture or ethnicity could influence the assessment, diagnosis or treatment planning processes.
