Task: For this Forum, your assignment is to reflect upon your role in our field and how you describe our field to people outside our field.

1. When you tell your family and friends you are pursuing a degree in “Health Studies,” how do you describe Health Studies?
2. How confident do you feel in describing Health Studies to someone outside the program?
3. How familiar are you with the terms NCHEC, CHES®, MCHES®, and Areas of Responsibility?
4. Are you interested in becoming a Certified Health Education Specialist, or are you already CHES®/MCHES®?
5. How do you view yourself in relation to health education, health promotion, and public health? Do you view yourself as more of a “health educator,” a “health education specialist,” a “health promoter,” a “public health professional,” a “public health researcher,” or another title?
