Notes: Angle Relations & Parallel Lines

Pairs of angles are formed when parallel lines are cut by a transversal.

Their relationship can be any of the following:

Alternate angles

Angles at a point

Co-interior angles

Corresponding angles

Supplementary

Vertically opposite angles.

1. The diagrams below show a 5-shelf storage rack made of steel wire.

The side view shows a steel bar welded at an angle to provide structural support.

This bar makes an angle of 120° with one of the shelves. Use this measure to determine the angles marked by the letters.

2. Draw a model of a building or town on binder leaves and submit.

The model must include:

A pair of parallel lines cut by a transversal.

At least 3 different types of angles (straight, right, acute, obtuse)
