Case Assignment

The Case Assignment requires that you write a 5-8 page critique of a research article that you have chosen in Module 1 or in Module 2. A critique is a detailed analysis – not a recap or summary the article you have chosen. This critique is to incorporate the topics we have covered thus far. You must cite at least 3-4 resources from the library to support your arguments in the research critique.

Topics to consider include:

a) Briefly describe the purpose of the research study

b) Identify and explain the Independent and Dependent Variable(s) used in the research study you have identified (Module 1)

c) Identify and explain the strengths and limitations of the sample of participants used in this research study (Module 3)

d) Identify all the possible internal and external threats to validity from the research study you have identified (Module 4)

e) Compare and contrast the research findings from the research study you have identified with at least 2 other research articles on the same or similar keyword(s).

The paper is to be double-spaced using a 12 point font using the APA (American Psychological Association) formatting style. Include a cover page and a reference page. It is recommended that you attempt to format the paper. It is to be submitted as a Word document and uploaded as a document to the Assignment area.

Self-Reflective Essay

The purpose of the Student Self-Reflective Essay is to reflect upon what one has learned or how one has performed as compared with one’s expectations or goals.

At the end of each course we ask students to respond to five (5) statements. In your essay please respond in sequential order to the five (5) statements below.

There is no requirement for length when responding to each statement.

1. Descriptions of how you feel you improved your knowledge, skills, abilities, and yourself in this session through this course.

2. Evaluation of the work you did during the session for the class and explanations of ways you could have performed better.

3. Topics you have identified that you did not understand or were not successful in trying to implement and suggestions you may have about how to improve the course material on those topics.

4. Ways you might measure the future effects of what you have learned in this course or your future progress/improvement.

5. State whether you achieved the course outcomes, (Student Learning Outcomes stated in the Syllabus).

The Signature Assignment requires that you write an 8-10 page critique of a research article that you have chosen in Module 7. A critique is a detailed analysis – not a recap or summary the article you have chosen. This critique is to incorporate the topics we have covered throughout the entire course. You must cite at least 3-4 resources from the library to support your arguments in the research critique.

Topics to consider include:

a) Briefly describe the purpose of the research study

b) Identify and explain the strengths and limitations of the sample of participants used in this research study (Module 3)

c) Identify all the possible internal and external threats to validity from the research study you have identified (Module 4)

d) Identify the ethical considerations for the people who were recruited to participate in this research study (Module 5)

e) Compare and contrast the statistical research findings from the research study you have identified in Module 7 with at least 1 other research article you selected during this course, e.g., article from module 1 or 2 compared vs. module 7 (Module 7).
