“Oedipus Rex#1”

Examine the messenger’s passage at the end of the play. What is the messenger’s attitude towards the people he is speaking to? His attitude about Oedipus and Jocasta? How does the phrase “don’t shoot the messenger” apply? Though a small role, does this character have the most important information to share with the audience? Or is it Tiresias? Who needs to be the better actor, the person playing the messenger or Tiresias? Which dialogue is thickest and hardest to understand? You must quote from the play.
