Week 1 Results Week 8 Results Thoroughness: 21 Thoroughness: 21 Control: 23 Control: 25 Hesitancy: 13 Hesitancy: 14 Social Resistance: 10 Social Resistance: 11 Optimizing: 8 Optimizing: 8 Principled: 9 Principled: 9 Instinctiveness: 8 Instinctiveness: 8  Identify and Discuss the specific changes in your scores. I had no significant changes from Week 1 to Week 8 results. I scored a 2-point difference in “control” where it displayed a better score in Week 8. I scored a 1-point difference in “hesitancy” and “social resistance” which again, I scored better in Week 8. I am very calm and collective when I need to make major decisions and I actually feel like I do better under pressure. I do enjoy making decisions and making a pros and cons list to see what decision is best suited for me with all options being considered.  Explain WHY you think your scores changed. I think my scores changed because throughout the course I have learned more logical ways to make decisions and understand the definitions of certain biases that I now recognize when making any decisions. Previous to this course, I would make vast decisions based on previous experience quite frequently which is also known as confirmation bias (More Decision Traps, n.d.).  Identify SPECIFIC questions asked in the quiz that reflect the skills needed to make decisions well. Explain WHY and HOW. 3. Do you like to consult with others? – I would think this is pertinent in the decision-making process because in certain situations, you should consult others to prevent tunnel vision when making any decision. 5. When you find one option that will just about do, do you leave it at that? – I feel this question is important because you want to display that you are open minded to explore other options/opportunities to ensure you’re making the right decision. The category of hesitancy relates to being uncertain about the decision that has been made and even going back and changing it. 9. Do you make decisions without considering all of the implications? – This question brings the rationale out. This questions is designed to determine how comfortable you are making a decision and is driven to an individual’s personality trait. Do you carry on looking for something better even if you have found a course of action that is just about OK? – This question is based on an individual who isn’t content with just one answer. Having the urge to see what other options are out there that could be better. Instinctiveness is all about making decision based on gut feeling and sticking with that decision. This may work for in the moment decisions but would not be conducive to big or significant decisions because of lack of information, potential bias, and the fact that one of the nine characteristics of a good decision is that they usually include others (Boss, 2015)  Identify WHICH decision-making skills you need to improve and WHY you need to improve those specific skills. Optimizing (8), Principled (9), and Instinctiveness (8) are my lowest scores.  Create a “decision fit” plan that would suggest at least 3 specific ways or methods that will help you to improve the skills you have identified as needing improvement. If the results of the questionnaire from this week indicate that you are strong in all areas, then create a “decision fit” plan that would suggest at least 3 specific ways or methods that this course emphasizes in continuing to make effective decisions.  Include the reasoning behind the suggestions made in the plan.  You must use course material with APA in-text citations and a reference list to support ALL of your responses. Questionnaire Thoroughness= 83 % Control=60 % Hesitancy=83 % Social resistance= 72 % Optimizing= 75 % Principled=75 % Instinctiveness= 75 % I scored fairly high in thoroughness and I think that has to do with my accounting skills. As an accountant clerk I must be very detailed oriented and thorough when reviewing reports and posting entries so I view that as a strength. I scored just above fifty percent for control and scored high for hesitancy. I think I need to work on hesitancy when making decisions so I would view that as a weakness. I scored just above average for social resistance, optimizing, and principled.
