Check required video PSY645 Grand RoundsPresentation; see video transcript attached, Chapters 15, 20, 1 and review Section 4: Privacy and Confidentiality from the APA’s Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct: Including 2010 Amendments.

(1)Provide an evaluation of the degree to which the presenter followed the ethical standards outlined in Section 4 of the APA’s Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct: Including 2010 Amendments.

(2)Highlight the relevant information from the patient’s history you will use to inform your conceptualization of the patient’s problems and diagnosis.

(3)Provide an evaluation of the patient’s symptoms and presenting problems within the context of a theoretical orientation that seems to be most appropriate for the situation. Be sure to indicate which theory you are using for your evaluation and provide a justification for your choice. (e.g., cognitive, behavioral, humanistic, biological, sociocultural, evolutionary, psychoanalytic, integrative, etc.).

NOTE: Be clear that you are writing about theoretical orientations and using the theoretical orientations to explain the client’s symptoms and presenting problems. Do not use the theoretical orientations to discuss any therapy or treatment approaches. Your application of the theoretical orientations should answer the question: How did this client develop the symptoms and current presenting problems? For example, “Based on the cognitive perspective, how did this client develop the symptoms and current presenting problem?” “Based on the humanisitic perspective, how did this client develop the symptoms and current presenting problem?” Etc.(4)Provide a diagnosis for the patient based on the DSM-5. Be specific about the DSM-5 criteria required for the diagnosis and how the client meets those criteria.(5)Describe at least one evidence-based and one non-evidence-based treatment option for this diagnosis.(6)Pose appropriate questions that you would ask the client to help determine the most accurate diagnosis for this patient?

Highlight the relevant information from the patient’s history you will use to inform your conceptualization of the patient’s problems and diagnosis.

After watching the grand rounds video, the main information pertaining to Bobs information is as follows. Bob is having anxiety feelings with his choice of psych tech. While he was growing up, his mother controlled everything in his life and his father was hardly around. Because she worked at the school, he did not have a lot of time away from her. She also interfered with his life at college by moving to California to be near him. Her interfering in his life caused him to disappear for longs periods of time and not eating as he should, causing him to lose weight. His friends were very happy that he was looking for help. Bobs description of himself is that he is friendly with everyone, but his friends say he is the opposite. Which character is the real Bob?

Provide an evaluation of the patient’s symptoms and presenting problems within the context of a theoretical orientation that is most appropriate for the situation. Be sure to indicate which theory you are using for your evaluation and provide a justification for your choice. To get the most out of this assignment, you are encouraged to use the same theoretical orientation from which you chose to write your Week Two Initial Assessment discussion’s guided response.

I would say that Bobs issues stem from his childhood. I feel that Bob’s anxiety comes from his mother’s constant bombardment of him making his self-confidence weak and this effected his decision in the choice of his career. This theory is based on the psychodynamic theoretical orientation. The absence of a father coupled with a strict mother, could cause his anxiety to stem from his mother’s anger over his father being gone so much and taking it out on him. These memories could be buried in his memory. All of this on top of his concern over his career and life choice are causing all the problems described by his friends.

Provide a diagnosis for the patient based on one of the diagnostic manuals available (e.g., DSM-5Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual, etc.). Justify your choice of this diagnostic manual.

Bob’s problems would be diagnosed as a generalized anxiety disorder based on the DSM-5. His worry for his future is causing him to have feeling of anxiety about succeeding career wise. The DSM-5 is the best choice for Bob because the symptoms and criteria are easy to understand.

Describe at least one evidence-based and one non-evidence-based treatment option for this diagnosis. Compare the benefits and costs of these treatment options.

Cognitive behavioral therapy is one evidence-based treatment option for generalized anxiety disorder. CBT helps the client to understand the issues they are having and helps find ways to change their thoughts and behaviors. What is so good about this therapy is that it does not take a long time to work. This type of treatment is expensive. The cost is $100 per session which only lasts an hour. Non-evidence-based techniques were frequently used, particularly by self-proclaimed anxiety specialists. Some of the techniques are CBT, dissemination, psychotherapy, anxiety disorders, and evidence-based practice. Even though non-evidence-based treatments are cheaper, It is not as effective or long lasting as the evidence based treatment.

Based on specific theoretical and historical perspectives, provide questions for your colleagues seeking their thoughts and feedback.

The question I have for my classmates is do you think Bob’s anxiety stems from his upbringing or his choice of careers or from both.
