Employers more strategic in recruitment tactics

posted by Teresa Hartford

I found this article to be very interesting for companies that are not well known by using a different type of marketing strategy to attract candidates outside their area. There are many on line career recruitment sites that a company can use to get their jobs out there. Some of those sites are Jobs, Indeed, CareerBuilder, Glassdoor, and LinkedIn, just to name a few. Per Booth (2007), companies are creating an “employment brand” that recruits are pursuing. Recruitment pages offer all kinds of different things, such as job searching, things to do in that particular city, and information regarding the company. To attract qualified candidates, companies are now spending more time in creating their own websites. This allows them to provide information about their vision, mission statement and their brand. A survey by Society for Human Resource Management stated that “organizations with Jobs domain had an edge when it came to recruiting due to the nature of the sites” (Booth, 2007).
