The client’s house

You are out in the field on a home visit with an elderly client. The client’s house is in disarray with food and garbage strewn across the floor. The dishes haven’t been washed in weeks. Additionally, the client has wet herself, but doesn’t seem to notice. You note that she seems more confused than usual. You contact the client’s daughter who is supposed to be keeping tabs on the client daily and helping her to maintain her home and hygiene. The daughter states that she’ll be right over to the home. Several hours pass and the daughter never arrives. You are new to the profession and have never before faced this scenario.
