STUDENT GUIDE FOR WRITTEN ASSESSMENT
Overview of Assessment This an individual essay assessment. Students that worked in a group for
the first assessment must choose different processes for this
assessment.
Using the same business from the first assessment, students will
consider the operations of the business and how they fit with the strategic
objectives. Students will then choose a new process to design for the
business or improve a current process ensuring it aligns with the
business strategies.
This assessment must address the following subject learning outcome(s):
• SLO2 Consider the implications of strategic fit and alignment on
operations.
• SLO3 Design or improve a process to align with the business
strategy
The assessor will use the grading rubric below to assess this task.
Word count: 1350
Assessment Weighting: 35%
Task/s to be assessed This is a written assessment in essay format covering the following
aspects:
• Operational processes for the business and their alignment with
organisational strategy.
• Design of new or improved business operational process
(including visual representation- process map) to help solve an
issue or problem.
• You may consider the following as part of your assessment:

self-directed manner). However, if time permits, some session time may
be allocated.
