Article Analysis For this assignment you will select two appropriate articles to critique. You may pick any topic that is of interest but must relate to child development in some way. Examples of articles are listed below. Use these as a guideline to select your own. Do not use one of these to complete this assignment. Use the following guide to complete the analysis. You will complete the chart for each article. After you have selected an article examine it using the following categories. 1. APA Reference- give a full and correct APA Reference of the article following the guidelines set in APA 6th ed. 2. Developmental Domains – Identify what domains were addressed in the study (physical, cognitive, social or emotional). More than one domain many be identified. 3. Theoretical Foundation – Identify which developmental theories support the research. Include a summary connecting the theory to the information presented in the article. (Ex. Sociocultural, Behaviorism, etc.) 4. Findings and Conclusions- Identify the major findings of this study as well as how these are generalized by the researcher. You do not need to report any statistical findings for this assignment 5. Application to Child Development – Explain how this study relates to the field of child development and what theoretical view the research used to examine the topic 6. Critique- Provide your own opinion of the study. Discuss how well you felt the study was conducted or addressed. Also, include how the study applies or does not apply to your area of interest.
