1) For the Greeks, poetry was an important means of conveying ideas, values, and emotions and thoughts that speak to all humans. How do epic and lyrical poetry differ from each other? Choice one Greek epic and one Greek lyrical poem and compare/contrast at least three aspects of the poems you choose (form, content, how they were conveyed, function, audience). Please include a few lines for each of your poems to support your argument. Use the Bethel Library to search for the poems.

2) In what ways do Greek philosophy and Greek religion differ from each other? How do they both differ from the philosophy and religion of the Egyptians and Mesopotamians? Give 2 examples from each.
