Use of observation

Notably, the use of observation as a technique for data collection takes on a whole different angle as it requires the researcher to engage within the workplace with a view to establishing the nature of real time events and thus make valid judgments which better serve and thus conform to the study’s aim from varied angles (Cope, 2014).  Observation necessitates the researcher to put themselves within the context of the situation at hand and as a caveat this technique requires no intrusion from the one carrying out the study in a bid to aid dispel any changes in routine and manner of interaction within a workplace. However effective this type of technique may appear, it holds certain limitations which may hamper collection of true findings. Focus group
