One of the key functions of the Safeguarding
Children’s Board is to ensure that there are
multi-agency policies and procedures for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of
children. This includes dealing with allegations against people who work with children and
the recruitment and selection of adults who work with children. There is a responsibility for agencies, groups and volunteers who are engaged in any work with children and their families, to have policies, systems and processes in place that support these multi-
agency safeguarding arrangements.
