In this unit you are learning about the Hindi film industry, and watching the film Pardes.  One of your readings is specifically about this film.  Sometimes it can be hard to access that film. Therefore, if you can’t find this film, please watch and analyze a Bollywood film.  Try to avoid analyzing crossover films (like Hollywood/Bollywood crossovers.)

Please spend this discussion board analyzing this film you watched.  This analysis should be informed by things you learned in this module and previous modules.  Make sure to reference at least four things from the module in your post, and cite.  Possible things to consider include what makes the film you watched a Bollywood film (look and see if you perceive elements that are foundational to this industry which is different from Hollywood films), how the film embodies themes relevant to the historical context in which it was made, and how the film represents all the elements we have covered this semester (i.e. gender, race/ethnicity, and more).  You can also consider if/how your own analysis coincides with (or differs) from what is outlined in your reading.  As usual, make sure to reference and explain ideas/concepts/theories from your readings (from this unit or from other units), and cite those sources.
