An explanation of why you think that the agency created a plan to evaluate the program

Statistical analysis software is a valuable tool that helps researchers perform the complex calculations. However, to use such a tool effectively, the study must be well designed. The social worker must understand all the relationships involved in the study. He or she must understand the study’s purpose and select the most appropriate design. The social worker must correctly represent the relationship being examined and the variables involved. Finally, he or she must enter those variables correctly into the software package. This assignment will allow you to analyze in detail the decisions made in the “Social Work Research: Chi Square” case study (ATTACHED) and the relationship between study design and statistical analysis. Assume that the data has been entered into SPSS and you’ve been given the output of the chi-square results. (See Week 4 Handout: Chi-Square findings) (ATTACHED).

ASSIGNMENT:

To prepare for this Assignment, review the Week 4 Handout: Chi-Square Findings (ATTACHED) and follow the instructions.

Submit a 1-page paper of the following:

  • 1. An analysis of the relationship between study design and statistical analysis used in the case study that includes:
    • A. An explanation of why you think that the agency created a plan to evaluate the program
    • B. An explanation of why the social work agency in the case study chose to use a chi square statistic to evaluate whether there is a difference between those who participated in the program and those who did not (Hint: Think about the level of measurement of the variables)
    • C. description of the research design in terms of observations (O) and interventions (X) for each group.
    • D. Interpret the chi-square output data. What do the data say about the program?

Make sure to discuss this in terms of your motivation and your ability to process the message.

Activity 14: A Tale of Two Routes

Instructions: In class we discussed one of the major theories of persuasion, the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM). For this activity, you will apply your knowledge of the two routes of processing proposed by the ELM (i.e., the central and peripheral routes) to identifying the extent to which components of a sales pitch on the popular show Shark Tank encourage each of these routes. Refer to class notes from Unit 13 (Persuasion and Public Communication) as well as the Booth-Butterfield (n.d.) and O’Keefe (2012) readings from Unit 13 to help you complete this activity.

Choose any sales pitch from Shark Tank during which entrepreneurs ask the Sharks to invest in their product. You may choose any sales pitch that is available to you on Youtube. Then, respond to the following:

(1) Identify 3 message factors from this clip that encouraged central route processing about investing in the product and describe why they are relevant to the message argument of investing in the product.

(2) Identify 3 message factors from this clip that encouraged peripheral route processing about investing in the product and describe why each is a heuristic cue rather than a message that supports the message argument of investing in the product.

(3) Are the Sharks more likely to process centrally or peripherally? Why? Make sure to discuss this in terms of your motivation and your ability to process the message.

(4) When YOU watched this video, did you use central or peripheral route thinking? Why? Make sure to discuss this in terms of your motivation and your ability to process the message.

Part 1 Of 3 Of BEHS 103 Presentation Project

The topic of this project is: Technology and criminology

Part 1: Reference summaries

What is your project topic? Describe your definition of technology as it relates to your project topic. In other words, what aspect of technology will you be examining in relation to your topic? (1-2 paragraphs)

What aspect of the social sciences impact or inform your topic? Explain how this topic informs what you are examining. (1-2 paragraphs)

Create a reference list of at least 5 scholarly sources that you will use in your presentation. References should use APA format (6th edition).

For this part of the applied project, you will use resources such as Google Scholar to:

· Locate 5 scholarly or credible sources on your chosen topic

· Locate at least 1 article that addresses your topic from the perspective of a different country or culture

· Locate at least 1 article related to policy (i.e. what policies exist, are being considered, or are needed to address your issue)

What is a scholarly or credible source? For this project rely on sources that have credibility. Appropriate sources would be articles written by experts in the field, articles found in peer-reviewed journals, published documents from well-known research groups  (e.g. Pew Research), and reports published by government agencies (e.g. NIH, CDC). Inappropriate sources would include popular websites (e.g. about.com, ehow.com, Wikipedia) or media outlets (e.g. Fox, MSNBC, WSJ, NY Times, Forbes, etc.). These sources do not always accurately report their findings and are sometimes prone to bias. If a website or article fails to report the credentials of the author and does not provide citations for the information contained in the article, chances are it is not a scholarly source and therefore should not be used.

Submit a summary of each article using the worksheet that follows. In your own words, identify the key findings of the article. Do not simply state what the article was about (e.g. “This article talks about cyberbullying.”). What specific information did you learn from your source? (e.g. “Cyberbullying has become a popular means of abuse among teenagers, affecting about half of all young people.”). Your summaries should be 2-3 paragraphs in length. Do NOT simply copy and paste the abstract or any other part of any source! This is plagiarism.

Use and complete the worksheet table in the attached document for this part of the project.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Provide a transcript of what happened during your field education experience

A process recording is a written tool used by field education experience students, field instructors, and faculty to examine the dynamics of social work interactions in time. Process recordings can help in developing and refining interviewing and intervention skills. By conceptualizing and organizing ongoing activities with social work clients, you are able to clarify the purpose of interviews and interventions, identify personal and professional strengths and weaknesses, and improve self-awareness. The process recording is also a useful tool in exploring the interpersonal dynamics and values operating between you and the client system through an analysis of filtering the process used in recording a session.

For this Assignment, you will submit a process recording of your field education experiences specific to this week.

Note: You are submitting a written transcript, not an audio or video recording.

The Assignment (2–4 pages):

  • 1. Provide a transcript of what happened during your field education experience, including a dialogue of interaction with a client.
  • 2. Explain your interpretation of what occurred in the dialogue, including social work practice theories, and explain how it might relate to diversity or cultural competence covered this week.
  • 3.Describe your reactions and/or any issues related to your interaction with a client during your field education experience.
  • 4.Explain how you applied social work practice skills when performing the activities during your process recording.

The Bible contains many passages that seem immoral to follow

 ????
The Bible contains many passages that seem immoral to follow. For  example, Exodus 21:20-21, Leviticus 25:44-46, Ephesians 6-5 and Titus  2:9-10 all endorse slavery.   I Corinthians 14:34 commands women to stay  silent in church. Deuteronomy 22:28 states that when a virgin is raped,  she must marry her rapist (and can never divorce).  Why do we no longer  follow these commands? And more important, what does this tell us about the relationship between religion and morality? Explain.

NOTE:
1. Should be original writing with A++
2. must be around 300 words
3. must have critical thinking with reasoning with examples and philosophical terms

Consider the use of diegetic and non-diegetic sounds in specific scenes, (be sure to define the terms) does the film achieve the desired impact on the audience? What camera point of view is used for key scenes? What is the overall point of view from which we see the character’s story? Consider the convention of time in the story. Does the story follow a linear or temporal order? Finally, review section 9.7 in your text and answer at least one of the critical viewing questions. Conclude your essay by recommending or not recommending this film for viewing.

Ashford 5: – Week 4 – Assignment

Stark Law

Case Study: Review this scenario:

Two physicians, Dr. S. and Dr. V., leased a nuclear camera so they would no longer have to refer their patients to the local hospital for nuclear imaging. Faced with the prospect of losing over a third of its $2,274,094 in annual gross nuclear medicine revenues, the hospital responded by threatening to revoke the doctors’ admitting privileges. Lengthy negotiations ensued, at the end of which the hospital agreed to sublease the camera from the two physicians; the camera remained at the physicians’ offices but other physicians with privileges at the hospital could use it. Four other local physicians who provided the same or similar services to patients as Dr. S. and Dr. V. brought a qui tam action alleging that the sublease violated the Anti-Kickback and Stark Acts and that the defendants falsely certified compliance with those laws in connection with claims submitted to Medicare in violation of the False Claims Act.
