During past trimesters, the success coaches at Torrens University have organised a
series of events culminating into a bigger event known as Success Week. While these
events have been carefully crafted, student attendance has not been as high as was
hoped for. According to an email from one of the Success Coaches, Mike Thompson,
the previous Success Weeks have been hit-and-miss in term of results (M. Thompson,
personal communication, March 18, 2019). The activities were advertised in student
newsletters, on-campus information screens, on the Student Hub and the company
Facebook page, and via Success Coaches making class visits during week four.
Despite using the above-mentioned marketing tools, there seemed to be a lack of
awareness amongst students. Many students were witnessing the event taking place
and then complained they were not aware of the events happening during Success
Week.
According to an email from Mike Thompson, the activities which were organised in the
previous success week were: subject selection drop-ins, guest speakers, LinkedIn
headshots, ‘meet your Support team’, and resume workshops (M. Thompson,
