In your initial post, you will introduce yourself to your peers and your instructor by creating a personal statement. A personal statement includes information on your current situation and understanding of psychology as well your hopes and ambitions for the future. As opposed to a more general introduction, the personal statement provides a picture of how you intend to use the master’s program to advance your career and improve your life. Your personal statement should be 200 to 250 words in length. In your personal statement:

• Provide your educational history (Degrees earned, and degree-granting institutions should be indicated).
• Describe your current job and any work history related to the field of psychology.
• Analyze psychology as a profession as you currently understand it.
  • The Master of Arts in Psychology is not a *licensure program and does not prepare an individual to become a licensed psychology professional. With this understanding, describe how you plan to  use this degree to create professional opportunities (for instance, teach at the college level, or use this degree as a step toward a doctoral program, )
