Over the semester, you have been given a glimpse of the world around you through the sociological lens. Each week, we have discussed various aspects of society.

In weeks 6 through 10, you were assigned Little Fires Everywhere, a short novel by Celeste Ng. The book includes five teenage main characters, but in contrast, the book is about two adult women and the choices they make for themselves and their families.

Your final project is to write a reflection paper about the book in comparison to the topics we have discussed in class. You will select at least four concepts (i.e., deviance, sexuality, race, etc.) Additionally, you will need to take a stance on your reflection using either of the three paradigms discussed in class: structural/functionalist, conflict, or symbolic interaction. Lastly, you should choose one theorist (i.e., Marx, Kohlberg, Goffman, etc.) that identifies with the paradigm you’ve chosen and support your choice with an example from the book.

You may write in any format you prefer (APA, ASA, MLA, etc.), but you must meet the following to be considered for full credit:

• Typed, Printed, and Submitted on BB by: Wednesday, December 8th.
• 5 page minimum (not including the title page). You may write more than 5 pages, but no less.
• Double Spaced
• 12 pt font Times New Roman
• 1″ margins

• Additionally, I should be able to readily identify the concepts you are addressing. For example, if you are relating your response to a portion of the book about sexuality, you should use a heading titled Sexuality, briefly summarize the portion of the book you are addressing (include a page number for reference), and then detail how it relates to society, based on what you have learned in the class. Likewise, if you are addressing a theorist, you should identify the theorist in a heading. You should address at least four concepts, one paradigm, and one theorist, but you may address more.
