2. In “The Rime,” the Ancient Mariner ultimately redeems himself, performs penance and becomes a better man. Victor and the monster embrace revenge rather than penance, and thus fail to redeem themselves and become better men (beings) . What does this suggest about Shelley’s view of, good, evil and human nature compared to Coleridge’s?
