Psychology discussion

A.) The specific idea/concept. I found on page 574, Comer and Comer’s, Abnormal Psychology (2018) the PsychWatch to be very interesting. This passage relates to serial murderers and whether they should portrayed as bad or mad. 

B.) My understanding of the idea. Serial murderers are extremely intelligent, manipulative, and usually have some sort of background that causes them to kill like they do. There is always a significant pattern in which they kill and will target specific people to fulfill their fantasy. Serial killers are extremely dangerous due to the fact that they blend in with society and you would never suspect this person to do such a thing.

C.) The time, date, and location that it was done. I was reading my textbook in the kitchen today, at 9am, while my mom was watching tv in the living room. 

D.) Tell explicitly how you did it, or what you observed. I asked my mom if she had a second to tell her about the serial killers. I knew she would thoroughly enjoy this because she has done a lot of investigative work in the past. I asked her if she knew that there are at least 25 to 50 serial killers at any given time in the United States. I then told her how interesting it was to me that most serial killers are narcissistic, have some type of antisocial personality disorder, and even sexual dysfunctions. I also explained to her that majority of serial killers had some type of abuse, whether that was sexually or physically, as children. This then encourages them to live out a fantasy and murder those who fulfill that fantasy.

E.) Describe with details what the exact behavioral response from others was. My mom was nodding her head with a look of excitement on her face. She told me that she loves reading about this and has dealt with similar situations in her line of work. 

F.) Did you get the desired response. As always, when I talk to my mom about psychology related topics, she is very interested and excited to hear what I have to share. We are always watching shows, movies, and reading books related to serial killers. This is used as reference and to answer the random response. Each student will offer a written report for every week. This report shall consist of the following:
