UTA Skills Needed to Successfully Navigate the Adult Life Discussion

I’m stuck on a Psychology question and need an explanation.

What do young people need to know to become competent, responsible, satisfied adults? Which of these should be the responsibility of the school system to teach them? Should high schools be limited to traditional academic subjects like English, math, science, and social studies, or should they play a broader role in preparing young people for adulthood by providing instruction more directly relevant to work, family, leisure, and citizenship? Which courses should be required and which should be electives?

According to a national survey of secondary schools students in the United States public schools, one out of every four students has been a victim of violence in or around school and one out of every six is worried about being physically attacked or hurt at school. Each year, nearly 300,000 American teachers (that’s 1 out of every 12) are threatened and about half of these teachers have been physically attacked. Was violence a problem in and around your school? What methods are currently being taken to reduce these problems? Are these methods working? How do you think the fear of violence impacts student-student and student-teacher relationships?
