Web designers at the Gap Inc. are complaining about their assignment to develop Web pages describing Gap’s employment benefits. Although Gap Inc. offers one of the most comprehensive benefits packages around, the jumble of information has Web designers totally confused.

The benefits programs include health and wellness benefits covering medical, dental, and vision care. To promote peace of mind among employees and their eligible dependents, Gap offers life insurance, disability insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and protection against business travel accidents. Another health benefit is a special health care flexible spending account.

Gap Inc. also offers a service that allows employees to speak with a registered nurse 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is called NurseLine. To prepare for the future, Gap offers a 401(k) plan plus a separate stock purchase option. As a “helping hand” to employees, it provides an employee assistance program (EAP) called Life Resources.
