Select 1-2 tips for writing for discussion boards that seem very important to you. Explain your rule choice and give a good example and a bad example of that rule. Be sure to read your other classmates’ posts to see many good and bad examples of discussion board “netiquette.”

Module 2.1 Writing Assignment (Why is it important to volunteer?) MLA Style and at least 1 reference.

Paragraph Assignment: Write one proper paragraph about a topic in which you have some knowledge and interest. Follow the rules for writing a proper paragraph and include at least 5 sentences (or more).

Reminders: A paragraph is a group of sentences organized around a common topic. A paragraph should have a topic sentence, which grabs the reader’s attention, supporting details that prove the facts, descriptions and examples of the topic sentence, and a concluding sentence, which drives the final point home. A good paragraph contains traditional words that unify the sentences and create flow. Paragraphs come in three basic types: narrative (tells about an event), descriptive (vividly describes one subject), and expository (provides information)

If you cannot create a topic of your own, write a paragraph concerning why it is important to volunteer.

Module 2.3 Writing Assignment (Choose one of the topics, it does not matter which one you choose.)

Pick ONE of these and email a simple but proper paragraph (as you have learned) including your answer.

• What in the recent past has made you feel the most alive?
• If you could meet any one person (living or dead) for a chat over a shared dinner, who would you pick and why?
• How do you use the information that you learned in your favorite class in your life today?
• If you could only choose one vacation destination where would you pick and why?
• If money were not a consideration, how would you spend the days of your life?
• What is one thing that you MUST do during your lifetime? (bucket list?)
